In case you are interested, here is a link to my main guide: I originally intended to have the content of this guide to be a bonus section for my main guide, but since it was becoming too big I´ve now decided to seperate both sections into different guides. Just a small heads-up: There will be some personal opinions every now and then. I will mention stats, special abilities, will give some personal thoughts on the units and will sometimes offer some strategic advice on how to use them the most efficient. Here I will give you an overview of all class units in Age of Wonders 3, while I will follow the style of my main guide. Unless I just produced a cool new unit, then I always want to use it to blow something up at the first opportunity.Hello everyone, welcome to my class unit overview guide. (Oh, and to answer the question: I do battles myself if they're important, but easy fights against mine guards and the like I leave to the AI after the first 10 turns or so. The combat AI in this game is pretty good, after all. You can see exactly how the AI did it, and learn some good tricks that way. There's a button for that on the combat result screen. It's a bit like playing with training wheels, but there's nothing wrong with that.īut if you stumble across a battle you can't win and the AI for some reason does great at it, you should watch the replay. You can also turn on Hero Resurgence (like in the campaign: you get your hero back when he dies, but you win the battle) to avoid frustration. Then it won't matter too much if you suffer more losses. I'd play on lower difficulty and do the battles myself, if I wanted the practice. Plus, as you point out, the fights are the most fun. well, that's all the more reason to fight manual battles. You should be able to do much better in manual battles than the AI does on auto-combat.
